THIS IS ...ESS!

“There are three things that are too amazing for me,
four that I do not understand:

the way of an eagle in the sky,
the way of a snake on a rock,

the way of a ship on the high seas,
and the way of a man with a young woman."~Proverbs 30:18-19

The words of King Solomon so resonate with me at this particular season. Well, as my KOF fraternity has witnessed over the last few months, yours truly has been "suffering" emotional upheavals.#CiaWendo has been the hash-tag. Mapenzi has inspired "ma-pens".

Thankfully,by His immense grace,God has bestowed unto me a special gift.
Still coming to terms with the reality of the blessing. He's gifted me my dream woman.
This is kinda of my testimony,a celebration of God's doing in that regard.

In honour of that special one, this I address:

She's the daughter of the King,I call her princess.
She's confident and bold,I call her lioness.
(You see ,she looks up to the Lion of Judah as her ultimate)
I'm drawn by her Godliness,
Daily as she strives for Christ-likeness,
She's humble, yearning for more of God,and of herself less.

She is modest in her dress,
In life too,not given to excess.
Ambitious she is,with diligence and excellence she works towards success.
Gifted she is,I'm intrigued by her literary prowess.

My pursuit of her, onward I press.
You see ,indeed to me,she never ceases to impress.
My affections and intention I did express,
You see, with her heart I didn't wanna mess.
I sought her hand and heart for a relationship, thankfully by God's grace she said YES!

Still in awe of God's awesomeness,
By gifting me her,I'm amazed by His kindness,
I pray that our relationship He may continually bless.
That by His will,a day soon we shall witness,
As I stand at the altar, and she walks down the aisle in that white dress ...

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.~Proverbs 31:30

HE IS RUNNING...

One of my favourite bands happens to be Casting Crowns. I like the theme of their songs that awakens us to the world lost in darkness and helplessness. One of the songs they sang some time back is Does Anybody Hear Her? You may be familiar with it. It forms the basis of my writing today. Picking it up from their last line of the song, telling the guy's version.

May we be stirred to respond in love to those around us who are seeking. As Christ looked at the crowd and saw they were harassed and helpless, may we be moved by His compassion.

Here goes:

He is running
A hundred miles an hour
In the wrong direction
He is trying
But the canyons ever widening
In the depths of his cold heart
So he sets out on another misadventure just to find
He's another two years older and he's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear him?
Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know he's going down today?
Under the jab of the needle/poison of the bottle,
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear him?
Can anybody see?

He is yearning
For approval and validation,
That he never found at home
He is searching
For someone to ride in,
To ride in and save the day
And then walks in his princess beautiful,
And she knows just what to say
A momentary lapse of reason
And he gives himself away

If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Who can't see past his studded ears/tattooed body/bloodshot eyes
And we never even met him
If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Who can't see past
his studded ears/tattooed body/bloodshot eyes
And we never even met him
Never even met him

He is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
                            ~*~*~*~*~
From the bottle,he takes the last swallow,
He thinks deeply of his life, turns out its been too shallow,
In the miasma of confusion and self pity,he continues to wallow,
As he regrets why those enslaving sips to his lips he did allow,
For a moment he ponders to take the gallow,
You see life now seems so hollow,
But again he's worried what for his family will follow.

He's running. Does anybody hear him? Can anybody see?
You see there's a man who hanged on the tree on his behalf.
If only someone would point him to Him.

He takes a shot of dope,
He says it helps him cope,
Against his life's dwindling hope,
Dumped by his girlfriend just as he planned how they'd elope,
Now he too is considering the rope.

He's running. Does anybody hear him? Can anybody see?
You see there's a man who hanged on the tree on his behalf.
If only someone would point him to Him.

Does anybody hear him?
Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know he's going down today?
Under the jab of the needle/poison of the bottle,
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear him?
Can anybody see?
